What Will Your Membership In Tempe Historical Society Do?
As a member or donor to Tempe Historical Society, you will be supporting the preservation of Tempe’s history and Tempe History Museum which the Society founded more than 50 years ago. Among the many ways we support the museum is in hosting opening receptions for exhibits and providing enriching experiences for children to sponsoring performances and programs so they can be offered free to the public. Our support helps fund acquisitions and special preservation projects at the museum or the historic sites it oversees – most notably Tempe’s popular Petersen House Museum.
In addition to the support of the museum and its exhibits, programs and events, The Historical Society presents its own free Lunch Talks series at the Museum, featuring speakers on Tempe and Arizona history-related topics which have run the gamut from the horrors of medical practices in Arizona Territorial days to political reminiscences of Tempe’s first publicly-elected mayor.
Membership Levels
Membership supports the work of preserving and sharing our collective memory with the community. Membership has benefits depending on the level you select. All levels receive the Society Newsletter, 10% discount in the museum store, and special invitations to events. Higher levels receive additional gifts such as artist-rendered note cards of historic properties, books on Tempe history or limited edition prints. The most important gift is your support of our community’s unique history and heritage. To join, simply complete the form and send it or bring it to Tempe History Museum with your payment. The membership year begins the date you enroll.
